AEON Celebrates Deepavali With AEON Bersamamu Box Giveaway and Financial Assistance.
Kuala Lumpur, 4 November 2021 – AEON CO. (M) BHD. (AEON) celebrates Deepavali this year by fulfilling its corporate responsibility through a community programme with those in need. It was organised in collaboration with Malaysian AEON Foundation.
At the Deepavali “Festival of Lights” celebration event which was held at AEON Mall Bukit Raja, Bandar Baru Klang, a total of 93 families around the area received donations in the form of AEON Bersamamu boxes worth RM100 each. The AEON Bersamamu box is a form of donation that contains daily essentials.
At the event, Rumah Kebajikan SVP Klang, a residence for underprivileged boys and girls between the ages of four to twelve and also Sri Subramaniyar Devasthanam Temple Association, Klang respectively received cash donations of RM5,000.
With a contribution value of RM40,000, AEON also contributed AEON Bersamamu Box to 307 B40 families around Selangor, Pulau Pinang and Perak. Donations were delivered through six AEON Mall outlets namely AEON Mall Rawang Anggun in Rawang, Selangor; AEON Mall Bukit Tinggi in Klang, Selangor; AEON BiG Klang, Selangor; AEON BiG Bukit Minyak in Bukit Mertajam, Pulau Pinang; AEON Mall Ipoh Klebang in Chemor, Perak and AEON BiG Falim in Ipoh, Perak.
According to Sunny Setiawan, Chief Operating Officer of AEON, “We are very grateful to be able to celebrate Deepavali through the ‘Festival of Lights’ programme. It is a meaningful celebration although celebrated in a simple way. We are indeed fortunate to have the opportunity to celebrate this Deepavali together which also strengthens the spirit of goodwill as well as to provide the assistance to the community in our ecosystem.”

This programme is in line with the aspiration of Sayap Bagimu, to encourage every layer of society to support each other and fly high together in building better tomorrows,” said Sunny again.
Aiming at providing opportunities, encouragement and support to stakeholders, especially those in need, Sayap Bagimu initiative focuses on two key thrusts, namely Development and Collaboration. It includes various tractions of sustainability programmes such as Education, Community, Business, Entrepreneurship, Personal Development, Small and Medium Industry Development (SME) and others.

This is part of our effort to support and provide the assistance for the well-being of the community through Sayap Bagimu initiative. We hope this donation to some extent will bring them joy in conjunction with the Deepavali celebration.”
The event was also attended by Shafie Shamsuddin, Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of AEON, representatives of AEON leadership, Rumah Kebajikan SVP Klang and Sri Subramaniyar Devasthanam Temple together with AEON business partners.
Several fascinating activities also enlivened the event such as a fashion show competition participated by children of AEON customers and residents of Rumah Kebajikan SVP Klang as well as quizzes that offered various exciting prizes.

The ‘Festival of Lights’ celebration is in line with AEON’s efforts in championing the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UNSDG). Among them is the Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions (SDG 16) which is to ensure a just, peaceful and inclusive society.
