RM105,750 Raya Celebration Comes Early for 460 Children and 45 Single Parents.

Sinar Kasih Ramadhan returns to bring smiles to the underprivileged

Seremban, 2 June 2018 – Aidilfitri festivities kicked off to a gleeful start for a selected group of kids and underprivileged families as the Malaysian AEON Foundation (MAF) returned with the 2018 edition of its Sinar Kasih Ramadhan initiative today.

A total of 460 children and 45 single parents were hosted at Raya celebrations held simultaneously at nine AEON outlets and two AEON Big outlets throughout the country, with the grand event taking place at AEON Seremban 2 and Klana Resort Hotel.

The RM105,750 initiative saw the participation of 60 MAF volunteers, along with the support of Mr Kenji Fujita, Managing Director of AEON Credit Service (M) Berhad and Vice President of MAF; MAF Committee members; Datuk Iskandar Bin Sarudin, Chairman of AEON CO. (M) BHD.; and top management of AEON CO. (M) BHD.

“Many will agree that childhood is the best time of their lives—one that is filled with dreams, carefree days, and joy. However, not everyone has the luxury of claiming the same. Embracing the spirit of Ramadhan, we persevere in our journey to bring cheer to underprivileged children and their families. We are here to remind them that they are not forgotten. We want the little ones to leave their worries behind this Raya season, and just be kids,” said Mr Kenji Fujita.

On the itinerary of the main event at AEON Seremban 2 and Klana Resort Hotel were fun games for children, a berbuka puasa feast, as well as tazkirah Ramadhan by Ustaz Muawwidz Al-Ansori Dzulkefly. The highlight of the day however, was a shopping session for the 130 participating kids, with each receiving RM200 worth of AEON gift vouchers to spend on baju raya of their choice. As an icing on the cake, they also received RM50 duit raya each. Additionally, the 45 single parents who were present went home with RM150 duit raya each, along with a necessity pack comprising of rice, cooking oil, and Raya cookies totaling RM100 each.

Meanwhile, at eight other AEON and two AEON Big outlets, 330 children were gifted with AEON gift vouchers worth RM200 each for baju raya shopping. The participating AEON and AEON Big outlets were: AEON Mid Valley, AEON Bandar Sunway, AEON Bandar Puchong, AEON Rawang, AEON Bandar Dato’ Onn, AEON Ipoh Falim, AEON Bandaraya Melaka, AEON Bukit Mertajam, AEON Big Kepong and AEON Big Batu Pahat.

Since its establishment in 2004 and up till this day, MAF has launched numerous charity initiatives, donating more than RM10 million help for those in need.
